Welcome to the Counselor Corner!!!
School Counseling is about working with students on academic, career and social/emotional needs in the school setting. This is done through assemblies, classroom lessons, groups meetings, and individual meetings.
CLASSROOM topics include: respecting others; decision making; social skills; communicating; problem-solving; stress management; conflict resolution; College and Career Readiness.
GROUP topics include divorce; anger management; friendship; anxiety; grief; study skills; dealing with change.
INDIVIDUAL topics are worked on by setting goals between the parent/guardian, student, and counselor. Such goals can be related to friends, crisis management, personal issues, self-esteem, abuse, depression, anxiety, grades, and attendance.
ASSEMBLIES are presented on anti-bullying and healthy living.

I grew up in Chicago, IL, surrounded by family, culture, and diversity. Learning and education have always been a passion of mine. I received my Bachelor's Degree from DePaul University, Chicago, IL (majored in Psychology). My Master's was earned at Northern IL University, DeKalb, IL (majored in Clinical Counseling). I received a School Counselor endorsement (K--12) from National Louis University, Chicago, Il.
2013 brought a cross-country move for my husband and I to West Jordan, UT. Settling down by family and grandkids has been a delight! During free time I enjoy crocheting, reading, cooking, movies and doing anything outdoors!
